The American Soccer League (ASL) is proud to announce that it has received provisional sanctioning from the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA). The provisional sanctioning comes after months of preparations by the upstart league, which plans to kick off in August. As a sanctioned member of USASA, the ASL will also be accredited by the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and FIFA governing bodies.
“I believe this is a momentous step on our journey to the inaugural kickoff,” said ASL CEO Matt Driver. “It allows us to carry out the business model as planned.”
The ASL season will be split into fall and spring sessions and will follow the international calendar. Mass United FC, NJ Gladiators, and Philadelphia Fury have been confirmed as inaugural teams with more announcements expected in the coming weeks.
Additional information regarding the ASL, including its front office, may be found on its temporary website at www.ASLsoccer.us.
