Sophomore Kelsey Malenic’s first goal of the season led Mount Union to a 1-0 victory over Allegheny (PA) College Saturday at Mount Union Stadium.
Malenic’s goal broke a scoreless tie in the 36th minute of play and held through the remainder of the game.
The Gators outshot the Purple Raiders 11-6, while junior Maria Favorite played all 90 minutes and had five saves on the day.
Favorite now has four shutouts on the season.
The Raiders improve to 4-1-1 on the season, while Allegheny falls to 2-4-1.
Mount Union remains at home, when they face-off against Kenyon Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m.
