The Bermuda Hogges and Western Mass Pioneers have announced that they will be playing in the PDL next season. Both played in the USL’s Second Division last season.
Perhaps this is the first of many moves caused by the USL/NASL dispute. The good news is that the USL-2 home openers have been announced and there are some exciting matchups.

Our sources continue to provide us with information about the possible sale of the Cleveland City Stars. It doesn’t appear that an announcement is coming anytime before Monday. We were initially told by multiple sources that the sale would be finalized by this Friday (9/18) or Monday (9/21).
Other agencies suggest that a group from Canada or Kenya might be in the running to purchase the franchise. We have heard that a group from New York had expressed interest during the preliminary stages. We feel the group from Elkhart, Indiana is the frontrunner at this point. Our sources suggest that face-to-face meetings have taken place and that “things were progressing quickly” after the meetings.
The City Stars finished their season last night in Vancouver with a national telecast on Fox Soccer Channel. The franchise has some time to work with as the USL deals with other issues, including a new ownership group and the threat of a breakaway league. Things are unsettled, but should begin to calm down in the coming weeks. We wonder if the continued rumors about the Charleston Battery (moving to USL-2) and the Bermuda Hogges (folding completely) have any bit of truth at all.
