The 36-year-old Sechrist brings over a decade of experience to the expansion Vortex squad. A Lakewood High School (OH) graduate, Sechrist began his professional soccer career with the Cleveland Crunch (National Professional Soccer League).  He would go on to play for numerous clubs, including the Utah Freezz (World Indoor Soccer League).    

Sechrist spent the 2008-2009 season with the Detroit Ignition of the Xtreme Soccer League.  For Detroit he appeared in 19 games, contributing 1 goal and 2 assists to go along with 28 blocks.
