Major League Soccer is the top-flight professional soccer league in the United States and was founded in 1996, after the country hosted the 1994 FIFA World Cup.

MLS continues to grow with the Montreal Impact joining the league in 2012. There is wide speculation on the 20th team with the best guess being a second team in New York.
